Marketing your buck is a decision that should be based on his pedigree and progeny. The market is saturated with semen for sale and only bucks with stellar qualities will sell and be in high demand. Linear appraisal scores and milk records should be above average. XCell Genetics has chosen to market top tier bucks with exceptional qualities and proven pedigrees.

• Collection fees are the responsibility of the consignor.
• All commissions are paid on a 70%/30% split. The consignor determines the selling price of the semen and receives 70% of that price, XCell Genetics receives 30%.
• Semen is sold in lots of 5 straws.
• A 30-straw minimum is required to market your buck. Less than 30 straws can be discussed on an individual basis.
• Your buck MUST be DNA Typed and on file with ADGA prior to marketing him.
• To ensure only the highest quality semen is offered to our clients, we only market semen that has been processed by XCell Genetics and has only been in our possession. If a buck sells out, he must be recollected.
• Marketing your buck with XCell Genetics consists of a listing on our website and sharing your buck information on social media (Facebook and Instagram).
• $30 online XCell website listing fee/buck. Includes pedigree, ADGA Genetics link, DNA/G6S/Casein status, paragraph written by the buck owner, 3 photos, along with iSperm post thaw, progressive motility, and semen price. Additional photos are $5/each.
• An XCell Genetics Social Media Photo Collage is REQUIRED for us to market and advertise your bucks semen. You can create your own or we can create one for you for $30 per buck.
• $6 per cane nitrogen fee.  This will store your marketed semen for one year.
• Semen will be available for sale at the ADGA National Show, ADGA Annual Convention, other collection stops as well as other shows and events we personally attend. All semen will be stored at our location in Alexandria, Minnesota when not on a collection tour.
• Shipping is available at the expense of the buyer (both ways and a nitrogen charge is applied).  Contact us for specific rate to your location.  US SHIPPING ONLY.
• XCell Genetics requires exclusive rights to the marketing and sale of all bucks listed with XCell Genetics. The only exception to this policy is the consignor may market the semen personally but only at the same price as listed with XCell Genetics.
• Commission checks are issued once a year in December. At the end of that period, consignors who have sold inventory will receive a detailed report listing how much semen is in inventory, how much has been sold and who it was sold to along with the commission check with full payment. At this time, negotiations will be made to continue marketing or arrangements made for the consignor to receive any unsold inventory. Delivery can be made to the ADGA National Show, ADGA Annual Convention or a shipper tank can be sent to XCell Genetics with return shipping at the consignors expense. If a consignor chooses not to relist their buck, a per cane fee of $10 per month is assessed to cover storage costs until delivery, pick up or shipping. Inventory must be picked up or shipped by the ADGA Convention of the following year or it becomes the property of XCell Genetics.
• XCell Genetics reserves the right to terminate marketing a buck at any time.
• XCell Genetics reserves the right to decline marketing any buck for any reason.
• XCell Genetics is not liable for any damage or loss to semen being marketed, transported or stored.  Semen lost or damaged while in our possession is subject to a maximum of $5/straw reimbursement.

Marketing Guidelines & Requirements:

• Bucks must have kids on the ground.  No bucks born in the current year will be marketed.
• Must have proven pedigrees as well as in demand sires and dams.
• Well known herdnames that are easily recognizable are desireable.
• Linear appraisal scores and milk records should be above average.
• Must have top quality photos of the dam, sire's dam, related animals, and preferably milking daughters.
• XCell Genetics reserves the right to decline marketing any buck for any reason.

XCell Website Listing Fee Details:

An individual web page will be created for your buck and posted on our website. His page will include his pedigree, ADGA Genetics link, DNA/G6S/Casein status, a paragraph written by the buck owner, 3 photos, along with iSperm post thaw and progressive motility. Additional photos are $5/each. Only color images can be accepted for the website listing.

Once your buck's XCell page has been added to our website, you’ll receive an email confirmation. We ask that you take a moment to proofread his page for accuracy within 3 days of its release and publishing to the website.

XCell webpages can be updated as often as the buck owner would like. The following rates apply: $5/text and $5/photo.

Your annual renewal fee will include texts updates as well as 3 photos included in the $30 fee.

Note: If you are using pictures from another herd, you MUST have permission to use them. When you send pictures to us, we will assume that you have been given permission by the animals’ owner.

XCell Social Media Photo Collage Fee Details:

An XCell Genetics Social Media Photo Collage is REQUIRED for us to market and advertise your bucks semen. We can design a photo collage ad for posting on our social media platforms.  This will include the bucks name, pedigree, as well as 2-6 photos.  If you choose to design your own there is NO CHARGE.  Simply email it to This email address is being protected from spambots. XCell Marketed Semen Storage Fee:

~ $6/cane ~

This affords the cost of liquid nitrogen for the storage of your semen for one year. To preserve the integrity of your semen only one buck to a cane is allowed.

XCell Genetics is not liable for any damage or loss to semen being marketed, transported or stored.  Semen lost or damaged while in our possession is subject to a maximum of $5/straw reimbursement.  All sales are final with no replacements or refunds.
