As a host herd you are an integral part of the process and invaluable for other breeders to be able to have their prized herdsires collected. You will have a few additional responsibilities in order to make collection day run smoothly. These include:
- 8 buck minimum.
- A level area for us to park and work in our mobile lab. Collection will be conducted as close to the lab as possible.
- Ample room to turn around. Our rig is approximately 55 feet long.
- Access to adequate power. At a minimum, we need 2 seperate 20 amp circuits for the lab equipment to work properly.
- The address of the collection site as well as a phone number and email address for the host. Once your stop is confirmed, we may need to ship a small box of supplies and pre-printed straws for safe keeping until the day of your collection.
- A stop off our route may be possible. Fees are depenent on mileage and number of bucks.
- A list of all buck owners coming to your stop for collection. We’ll need complete information including phone numbers and email addresses.
- We start collecting bucks at 9:00AM so please have all participants on site by 8:00AM to complete the necessary paperwork.
- Having does in strong, standing heats is imperative for a successful collection.
Cancellations:
Due to the immense time and planning that goes into our fall collection tours as well as having a limited number of days to collect, XCell Genetics reserves the right to not book a stop that has canceled after pre-booking. If a host herd cancels after dates and routes are set, they will not have the opportunity to book with XCell Genetics in the future.
